Does the Battery Life Actually Hold Up for 100km+ Races?

Val d'Aran: 111.6 km. Full GPS navigation with course mapping active the entire time. Race duration: roughly 18 hours of movement. Finish line battery: 60%.

My friends at every ultra race do battery management. They carry power banks. They switch to reduced GPS mode. I charge my Garmin every two to three weeks. Some days with strong sun exposure, the solar charging means zero net battery loss over the course of a full day outside.
